Very popular with the locals, this state park has one of the best beaches for swimming in Richmond. A nice small sandy beach which has wonderful views of Pleasant Pond, a fresh water lake is the perfect place to bring the family for a swim. A seasonal lifeguard is on duty so that visitors of the park are always safe.

After a long day of swimming, visitors of the park can relax in the picnic area and enjoy some lunch. Although it’s located only 12 miles from the state capital of Augusta, this park is off the beaten path for most. This helps to make Peacock Beach State park a great place to relax and get away from it all. Park entrance fees are an honor system and can be paid via a collection box at the entrance of the park. Remember to contribute your part to keep this wonderful park open for all to enjoy for many years to come.
